October lull and big bucks

This is the buck I named "The handle bar buck". He showed up under my stand on October 11th, 2013 at 15 yards. This never happens to me. The evening before I set out with the lone wolf and hung a set over an active scrape line on the back end of a cornfield next to a bedding area. I know what you're thinking, active scrape??? On October 11th??? This back lane had three scrapes from the morning before. This might have been the first time they were hit but they looked aggressive. So I made my move. If you're going to self film and be mobile you will have your work cut out for you. One lone wolf, four sticks, a backpack, hunting gear, 2 camera arms, plus 3 cameras and your bow makes for a sweaty walk. Once I was set up, I sat that evening and managed to miss a doe. Notice how I won't show that on this post.... Looking back at it, if I killed her, I might have ruined the spot for the next morning. That evening I left all my equipment in the tree and returned the next morning. Slipping in with my boots covered in EverCalm. Tip: Early season hunting I don't use scents because I believe they hurt you more than they help you. However I do trust EverCalm by ConQuest Scents which is a calming sent. I applied it to my boots because I knew the deer would filter down the lane where I walked in. What a special morning.

Proof of the EverCalm scent working 0;08
when the small buck licks it off the corn stalk that I applied it to.
Also watch how the big buck sniffs the small bucks nose starting at 1;50 Think he smells what the small buck was licking? You bet… For more info to what EverCalm is Check out http://youtu.be/-IX4Ub-8rxc Turns out the "The handle bar buck"scored 157". If he had not broke the G2 he would have been 160". He has 15 scorable points and like all my deer I count trash. He had four small points which makes him a 19pt in the Hidden Thicket Hall of Fame.
